Nobody Plans to Need a Car Today
Something breaks first. Orders move, a flight is cancelled, the shop calls and says it will be another three days. By the time renting a vehicle reaches your list it is already urgent, and the last thing that helps is a form promising somebody will get back to you tomorrow.
So same-day is a normal booking here rather than an exception we make. We are open 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, seven days a week, and a request made inside those hours gets a real answer inside them: what is free, what it costs, and whether we can bring it to you or you are quicker collecting it. If today is genuinely full, you hear that straight away rather than after a hold queue.
Nothing is final until you have seen the terms, and that matters more on a same-day booking than on any other kind — a booking made today sits inside our no-refund window from the moment it is confirmed. Which is precisely why we confirm what is actually available, and what it will cost, before you commit to it rather than after.

Five Ways a Normal Week Turns Into a Same-Day Rental
None of these is an emergency. All of them are Tuesday.
- A flight or a plan that changed this morning
- Cancelled, delayed, or rerouted through San Antonio with a night nobody planned for. Tell us the terminal and we can meet you at it rather than making you find a counter first.
- A vehicle still sitting in the shop
- The repair that was going to be Tuesday is now Friday. This is the most common same-day booking we take, and it usually runs longer than people expect — ask about the weekly arrangement before you book it by the day.
- Orders that moved
- PCS arrivals with no vehicle yet, TDY windows that shift, and duty that does not wait for a counter to open. We serve the Joint Base San Antonio community at Lackland, Randolph, Fort Sam Houston.
- A trip somebody decided on at breakfast
- Family in for the weekend, a Hill Country run, a ceremony you heard about yesterday. Pick the class for the trip rather than for the day, and tell us how many people are actually going.

Send the class you want, the date, and the hour you need it in your hands. Two minutes on the booking form, or talk it through with someone local who can actually make a decision about your rental.
We confirm the class and the time
We come back with what is genuinely free today, what it costs, and the terms that apply to it. Nothing is final until you have seen all three — which matters here more than anywhere, because a same-day booking cannot be cancelled for a refund once it is confirmed.
Get your documents in your hand
Your driver’s licence, and the card the booking is in. Anyone else who is going to drive needs their licence on them too. This is the step that most often costs people an afternoon, and it takes about a minute to avoid.
Collect it, or tell us where to bring it
Come to us and it is one stop. Or give us the address, the hotel or the terminal, and we agree a delivery window with you before your pickup time rather than on the day.
Drive
Keys, the fuel level noted, and your return time already agreed — including if that return is after hours. Bring it back the way it left and there is nothing to settle at the end.

Have These Six Things in Front of You
Not a policy page — a pre-flight. Everything here is something you can put your hand on in the next two minutes, and having it ready is most of the difference between renting today and renting tomorrow.
A valid driver’s licence
Yours, and one for anybody else who is going to drive it. On them at handover, not in a bag in the boot.
The card the booking is in
Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Debit works too, at a higher deposit. It has to be in the name the booking is under, so borrowing somebody else’s is the one thing that will stop a handover.
Your age, if you are under 21
The standard minimum is 21, and we take drivers of 18 to 20 on a direct booking. Say so when you call and we will confirm which classes are open to you before you commit to one.
A deposit you are expecting
From $250 on a credit card and a $300 minimum on a debit card, higher on some vehicles. It is refundable, and released within 3 to 7 business days of the vehicle coming back in good order.
What your own insurance already covers
Many personal auto policies extend some cover to a rental, and some cards include it as a card benefit when you pay with that card. Worth two minutes with your insurer before you add anything you may already have.
The hour you need it back
Agreed while you are booking rather than worked out later — including if that return falls outside our standard hours, which is arranged the same way.
What You Can Book Today
Every Class Runs on Same-Day
No class is held back from this service. What decides today is what is free today, which is a question we answer rather than one you have to guess at.
You reserve a class rather than a particular car, so what you are guaranteed is the class you booked — the seats, the transmission and the space it describes. Not sure which one the day needs? Tell us the trip rather than the vehicle: how many people, how much luggage, and how long for. That is usually enough to get from six to one.
What It Costs
The Whole Structure, Before You Commit
Six things decide what a same-day rental costs. Here they all are, including the one most rental sites put in a PDF.
- The rate
- Quoted against the class you want and the dates you want it, and shown to you before you commit to anything. Ask what it includes when we quote it and you will get a straight answer — that conversation is the point of quoting rather than publishing a card.
- Deposit
- Refundable, and held for the length of the rental. From $250 on a credit card and a $300 minimum on a debit card, higher on some vehicles. Released within 3 to 7 business days of the vehicle coming back in good condition with no breach of the terms.
- How you pay
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Debit cards are accepted at the higher deposit above. The card has to be in the name the booking is under.
- Mileage
- A daily allowance is included, and it varies by vehicle type. Past it, additional miles are charged at $0.50 to $1.50 or more, depending on the vehicle. Tell us roughly what you have planned and we will confirm which allowance applies before you book.
- Fuel
- Bring it back at the level it left at. If it comes back lower, a refuelling charge applies — so the cheapest fuel policy here is the one you control.
- Delivery
- A delivery fee applies, based on distance and the pickup time. We quote it while you book, not after. Collecting the vehicle from us instead carries no such fee.
If you book today, you cannot cancel for a refund
Worth reading before you get to the end rather than after. Our cancellation terms run on notice, and a same-day booking has none by definition — it is inside the last tier from the moment we confirm it.

How late can I book a vehicle for today?
Our pickup and return hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, seven days a week, and same-day is a service we run rather than an exception we make. The last hour we can hand a vehicle over today depends on what is actually free and which class you want, so it moves with the day rather than sitting at a fixed time. Tell us the hour you need it and you get a straight yes or no, not a hold queue.
Can you deliver the vehicle to me the same day?
Yes. Delivery runs on the same day as any other booking. Give us the address, hotel or terminal when you book and we agree a delivery window with you before your pickup time. A delivery has to be arranged earlier in the day than a collection, because someone has to drive it to you, so the earlier you ask the more of the day is still open. A delivery fee applies, based on distance and the pickup time, and we quote it while you book rather than adding it afterwards.
Can I rent same-day if I am under 25?
Almost certainly. The standard minimum age here is 21, and we accept drivers of 18 to 20 on a direct booking, so being under 25 is not the obstacle it is at most counters. Same-day works the same way for a younger driver as for anyone else. What changes is which classes are available to you and what we ask for at handover, so tell us your age when you book and we will confirm the class before you commit to it.
What deposit do you take?
A refundable security deposit is held for the length of the rental. On a credit card it starts at $250 and can be higher depending on the vehicle; on a debit card the minimum is $300. We release it within 3 to 7 business days of the vehicle coming back in good condition with no breach of the rental terms. We take Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, and the card has to be in the name on the booking.
Can I return the vehicle after hours?
Yes, by prior arrangement and at no extra charge. After-hours pickup works the same way. Our standard pickup and return hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, seven days a week, so anything outside that is something to agree while you are booking rather than to sort out on the night. Bring it back with the same fuel level it left with, or a refuelling charge applies.
If I book today, can I cancel it?
Not for a refund. Our terms give a full refund at 48 hours or more before pickup and a partial refund between 24 and 48 hours; under 24 hours, which includes every same-day booking, there is no refund. That is exactly why we confirm what is actually free and what it costs before you commit to anything, rather than after. If your plans move once it is booked, tell us as early as you can. We would always rather hear it early.
